WHEN AND WHERE WILL THE MEATING FESTIVAL TAKE PLACE?

The first edition of the MEATING Festival takes place in the ruins of the old Paço Episcopal de Miranda do Douro on the 14th and 15th of September 2024.

Yes. All cultural programming, concerts and other activities are free. Participants only pay for food and drinks.

No. MEATING is a festival for the whole family, where there is room and activities for everyone.

No. You will only need to top up your physical card or the app that allows you to pay for meals and drinks (see the next point)

Payments are deducted from top-ups made via a mobile application (app) or from the top-up of a physical card that will be given to the participant. Top-ups can be made in cash, with a credit or debit card and MB Way (the least only for portuguese bank accounts).

The dishes prepared by the chefs with meat from native breeds are priced at 8 euros per serving, while the chestnut-based dessert costs 5 euros.

Yes, at each meal, one of the chefs will prepare a vegetarian dish in addition to the meat dish.

From 12pm to 2am. Concerts schedule will be published in advance here and on social media.

Lunch time from 12pm to 3:30pm and dinner from 7pm to 10:30pm.

MEATING is an environmental-friendly event. We have reusable cups charged upon the first purchase. In any case, participants can bring other reusable plastic cups to the event as long as they have a capacity of 25 CL or 50 CL.

One of the premises of this festival is to offer, in a democratic way, the greatest possible public inclusion. Therefore, we strive to create an accessible structure for people with reduced mobility.

Yes. You can leave the venue whenever you want and set out to discover the city of Miranda do Douro (but don’t take too long so you don’t miss a hint of the festival!).

Yes. Entry is free for all family and friends, including pets. Remember, however, to respect the rules.

Some objects and articles are not allowed such as:

– Dangerous objects (knives, sticks, any type of weapon, chains, belts and/or pointy bracelets, or others as indicated by the authorities;

– Professional cameras, except those accredited to cover the event;

– GoPro Stick/Selfie Stick and any other object that can be thrown;

– Glass objects that could be considered dangerous.

– Explosive and pyrotechnic material;

Note: The organization does not have a warehouse nor does it keep these objects in its custody.

The most recommended is to arrive by car, with family or friends and with enough time to enjoy the trip and all the good surprises you might find along the way.
